Hiking is so good for you, it's like medicine - and it's easier to take. It's not just that fresh air and exercise are good for your body; hiking actually improves your brain function and your mood. I love to share the good news about hiking as well as some of the fascinating things I learned about Cleveland and NE Ohio in writing three editions of this great trail guide.
I conduct school and library visits, and can create custom workshop activities, too. Presentations focus on fun family activities, hiking with children, beginning nature photography, things to do in Cleveland, the writing/editing/publishing process, and more. I can tailor children's writing workshops to your curriculum and/or Ohio education standards. Believe it or not, I once taught a Point of View (POV) workshop to 4th and 5th graders. And we all survived.
Many local booksellers stock the book, as do the nature and gift shops at Cleveland Metroparks, Summit Metro Parks, and CVNP visitor centers. Retail and bulk orders can be placed through the publisher. Of course I'm a bit biased, but I can make a good case for the book as a great teacher gift, hostess thank-you gift, or housewarming gift for a new neighbor. Look, it's less than a good bottle of wine, and super easy to wrap!
